CASE #4: left-sided superior canal dehiscence

This is a 38 year old man who presented with a history of worsening left-sided hearing loss, autophony and aural fullness and intractable dizziness and vertigo that was worsened with weight lifting and loud low frequency sounds.

High resolution temporal bone CT scans revealed a large tegmen defect and a left-sided superior canal dehiscence.

The following is a three-dimensional model of the left temporal bone. It is interactive and requires Quicktime player to view.
